| Kiss Away My Tears, Dance Away My Fears |
| 04.26.04 (7:28 pm) [edit] |
I don't know why you smile I know why I cry You don't know I hide my tears I know that I try
If you could really see me Stare at my soul Take my life and live it for me Let my spirit go
I just want to hide away Let time pass me by Soar away on your golden wings Together we can fly
But as your eyes meet mine You quickly turn away Another opportunity gone Maybe another day
For now you don't really know me And I guess that's quite alright You see my happy smile But ignore my inner strife
I fear that you won't love me I fear that you won't care And even if you cant truly know me It helps to know you're there

Perseption is a funny thing. It's as if we're a house and those around us are left to gather opinions by size, and appearance, and maybe what they see through a window. The problem is, sometimes this windows can be dirty or shattered. Let's take me for example, seeing that this is of course based on personal experience  I make an effort to get along with people, but there is some significant tension between me and someone right now because of our "officer positions" within our graduating class. So recently one of her friends, who I had never talked to before, decided that based on his tinted view of me through her window, that I was a power crazed, uncaring, manipulative perfectionist. :? lol. Now our opinions of ourself CAN definately be tinted or shattered or distorted as well. However, after listening to hom tear apart everything about me for about 20 minutes, I realized that on many counts he was misinformed. So how can we make accurate assessments of others? Hmm lets stick with the walk in another's shoes idea shall we?

//Song of the Week:
This is for all you girls about 13
High school can be so rough, can be so mean
Hold on to, on to, your innocence
Stand up tall
When everybody's givin in
This one's for the girls
This is for all you girls about 25
In a little apartment
Just trying to get by
Livin' on, on dreams and Spaghettio's
Wonderin where your life is gonna go
This one's for the girls
This one's for the girls
Who've ever had a broken heart
Who've wished upon a shooting star
You're beautiful the way you are
This one's for the girls
Who love without holding back
Who dream with everything they have
All around the world
This one's for the girls//
